Due to the Covid -19 pandemic,  Carnival was essentially cancelled.  No prades rolled nor held a ball.  New Orleansians and carnival fans world wide celebrated Carnival with "Yardi Gras",  or the Krewe of House Floats.  People decorated their lawns and houses with Christmas level decorations.  Many people created home-made "Float-style Flowers", created their own float-like props and some rented props from popular float builders to help keep our Carnival artists working during the lockdown. People drove around neighborhoods checking out homes with St Charles Ave having several elaborately decorated yards and homes.  Different areas of the city (and suburbs) had area lieutenants which provided participants with tips for decorating and helped document all of the "stops" on a giant map.

Additionally, 28 Krewes lent their signature floats to  "Floats in the Oaks", a drive thru parade experience in City Park.  Besides seeing the iconic floats of Carnival, several dance teams danced along the route while still practicing social distancing.  Attendees stayed in their car as they drove thru the parade.

Many krewes continued communication amongst members by holding online socials in meeting platforms like Zoom, Skype, Facebook and Discord.

Many dance teams participated in online video collaborations where members would be dressed in their parade garb and danced in their homes. Another popular video style included members in "everyday" clothing and doing a transition to their parade garb.
Members of several Krewes continued to work on their decorated throws and honed their skills even more.
