Pickle and Kirk are longtime friends and Mardi Gras aficionados for many years.
Every year, you can track our progress online as we attend dozens of parades and Mardi Gras events, including riding in a parade together each year (Hail Excalibur!). With our love of Mardi Gras, we wanted to learn more and share what we know about Carnival with all who care to hear it. So, we created a podcast aptly called “Tales From the Parade Route”.
Our goal is to interview captains, officers, and other representatives from the Mardi Gras Krewes or yesterday, today and tomorrow (parading and non-parading), the various dance & walking groups that add that flare to the parade, Social Aid & Pleasure clubs, Mardi Gras Indians, clubs related to Mardi Gras’ eclectic history and its’ memorabilia, Carnival personalities, and others related to Parades throughout the year. We are looking to uncover the origins, traditions, and stories behind these groups that make Mardi Gras “the World’s Greatest Free Celebration” through interviews and visual records of these individual groups.
We hope you enjoy the show and we’ll see you on the route!
If you are involved with a Mardi Gras Krewe or group and would like to be interviewed by us, please contact us to schedule an interview! (paraderoutetales@gmail.com)
